Mounted Games

Mounted Games, also called Skill-At-Arms, are both a means to an end and an end in themselves.

Mounted Games are excellent training for the joust. These games accustom both rider and mount to handling equipment and riding in unusual (at least in the modern riding world) circumstances.

Mounted Games are also enjoyable as a skill in themselves. Such competitions are often part of jousting tournaments. These competitions can include:

• Tilting at Rings, with sword, spear or lance;
• Spear Throw, at near or far targets;
• Tilting at the Quintain;
• the Gauntlet, which is a combination of games run together; and
• anything else that a tournament organizer might think of.
