BiographyStephanie is an IJA Level 2 Jouster, who also played in the former WCJA (as a Judge and Squire) and still plays in the SCA (as a jouster, Court Baroness and Seige Weapon Engineer). |
MountStephanie lost her first horse, "Shady Lady" in 2006, at the respectable age of 24-year-old, after a good and full life. Following a two-year retirement, Shady succumbed to old age and arthritis. Happily, Stephanie still has Shady's daughter, a 5-year-old Freisian-cross, "Shades of Honour", who just started jousting last year, and is fabulous at it. She's fearless. (The horse, that is,,,) |

BiographyJordan is an IJA Level 4 Jouster, and a member of the IJL Board of Representatives. He also played in the former WCJA (as a Light Armour Jouster and Squire) and still occasionally plays in the SCA (as a jouster, Court Baron, Squire and Marshal of Horse). Despite having numerous foci other than jousting (such as horseback archery, Cowboy Action Shooting, eating, drinking, socializing, drinking, etc) Jordan has finally figured out how to joust. His first joust tournament being in 2003, in 2008 he earned Reserve IJA-Canada Championship, Reserve Tournament Champion at the Miracles in Motion Tournament in New Hampshire, USA, and in 2009 earned Reserve Tournament Champion at the Harcourt Grail of Chivalry in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. Having competed in Canada, the USA, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and France, Jordan revels in his international circle of friends. To make a living (because his hobbies are very expensive), he is a project manager for Canada's largest hard goods retailer, Canadian Tire.Along with Stephanie, Jordan has purchased a small bit of land, where they are in the midst of setting up Cricket Lane Equestrian , a home base for their jousting and other equestrian pursuits. |
MountJordan's current joust horse is Stirling, a 16.1 grey Percheron/Thoroughbred cross. Stirling is a lazy cuss, but that can be a good thing. He won't run away with you in the list... (We think "Thoroughbred cross" is code for "We have no bleeding clue who got at that mare...")
Jordan's previous joust mount was Gloucestre, who we still use in a pinch.
Gloucestre is a Trakhener/Bretton/Thoroughbred cross.
He knows how to joust - he just doesn't like it.
(We think he considers it far too abrupt a sport for his gentle upbringing.) Jordan also has a little 14.2 hand 16-year-old chestnut quarter horse, named "Escapade" (but all his buddies call him "Spike"), who just loves the games. Spike is also our "stand-in" joust horse. A tad on the small side, he'll do anything you ask (whether he likes it or not), because he's a damn fine horse. At Cricket Lane Equestrian, other horses are now coming and going in the joust horse string. |
